LOL, the Apocalypse video was hilarious! I am glad I now know what to do to prepare!!!

Shawn Vine

I appreciate the answer on the bug spray. Thanks for the tip on usage, too!

Daniel Miller

Sounds like you enjoyed hoya. I can enjoy while sober.

Love , love, love the tips for the apocalypse 😂🤣😂🤣

Sorry you didn't like the photo Matt, perhaps I didn't set it up very well. The barrel at the end of the truck is crumpled over as if to say 'Egads that stinks'. Otherwise, I would have shot straight at the side of the truck focusing in on 'passing gas since 1928' which is indeed someone else's humor. I actually placed the crumpled barrel where it was at what I thought was a strategic location. Then because I only had a 50mm lens I backed up to a point where I could place the whole truck in the frame and… Read more »

The answer to the megapixel question is YES! If you are a real professional, everything that could possibly make your shots look better is good. Is it worth the money? Absolutely if you are a commercial photographer. If not then I'm not sure. It depends. If you are just a salesman photographer that isn't really that good but can sell sand at the beach, you could just use your cell phone. There are a lot of bad or non "photographers" making money these days.

One language is bit lazy for a man of the world...

The end of the world is a once in a lifetime opportunity,... Ha liked this one !

will we ever get steph back or guest hosts for togi life

I think with the megapixel thing the thing is less do with a for a need the higher number and more of what the technology allow for it. The ability of the sensors today will allow for cleaner pictures at a higher megapixel count than we could get 10 years ago. Also the ability to store more stuff in smaller packages at faster rates helps. So do we "need" more megapixels probably not but if we can get more without losing anything why not take them?

William Miles La Mont

One of your best parody vids! 😁

Brian Madden

I love you Matt Granger. Never change dude

I'm ready for the apocalypse now.
My thumb is on the exposure compensation dial...
Thank you so much Matt!

I have only one thing to say about your Mayan end of the world video: BEAUTIFUL!

Noealz Photo

I think the 14:33 one matters if you are someone that crops quite a bit

Stephen Morgan

Great video Matt. Great advice about wedding photography. I have been doing it for years and your advice was bang on. I love it, would do it for nothing if it wasn't my only form of income, you have to love your work. 🙂 Stephen

one barrel knocked over, one heavily dented. Truck obviously didn't pass them the first time. Know the driver has obviously cheated because the truck is parked far away of the barrels as if he had passed them safely. I don't think this pic is that difficult to understand.

Have shot a N 750 since it arrived with my N glass I have collected for over 20 years.......looking at the Zeds, I'm Canadian, eh...thinking of the 7 not the 6, cost not an issue but I may move to the higher pix count.......but I love 24 and agree with you get out and use it, I do print so more may be better and since I'll get new glass over the next few years I think maybe the 7, your review of it was very balanced......

Erich Stocker

Actually I think the outhouse at the end of the rainbow is hilarious. Saw that a laughed myself silly. The boy and dog shot is cute and a real family shot. I found it amusing but not really funny. But kudos to both of the photographers. Likes are always subjective but I appreciate both their efforts

Gene Waddle

Kate is a very good camera operator. I think she should get a pay raise. 😜🦆

Jan Hoogendijk

The best last picture ever... must be from Matt and will be send to Heaven sure where we all can watch it.

Zach Fisher

"for your sake I hope there's some Lookers in the bunch..." I LOL'd

Insect repellent: DEET-based repellents will damage and melt plastics, paints, rubber, ... . They can do permanent damage to lens and filter coatings. Newer repellents using Picaridin (or Icaridin in Canada) should be preferred, because they have high efficacy (comparable to DEET) and do much less damage to equipment. Trust me I'm a medical entomologist.

Hmm, A7 R IV has pretty bad jpegs as posted up at dpreview.

Richard Jacobson

maybe he means the zone focussing system

Neels Redelinghuys

That apocalypse video is gold and so fitting for this episode related to humor 😀 Thanks, Matt and Kate.

Poppy's Pix
There is, of course, the physics problem which is difficult to get around no mater how much "tech" you stick in your sensor. The picture element sites (pixels) in the MF sensor are significantly further away from each other than the full-frame sensor. No mater how much futzing around you do, this is still the case. Why does this matter? Spherical Aberation (from the lens) which is the breakdown of light into its component colors and tend to spread apart after passing through the lens and also change speed slightly. Unless the new sensor corrects the lens, which is highly… Read more »

I think you have to make an updated version of that apocalypse video.
I mean, honestly, going to an apocalypse without a 360 camera? No way!

love the guide to the apocalyps, just made my day!

DarcNoodles

Matt is a kind guy. I have far less faith in the thought processes of the 'like-chasers'. I reckon they are too high on their own delusional double tap feedback loop. They will never get tired of making images to get likes because that's their sole purpose for creating anything in the first place. It's the only place they feel like they matter and construct their entire reality around the unreality they portray on the gram. The sad bit is they don't even know it and eventually believe the lies about themselves, skill and deluded sense of self importance.

Have you converted to mirrorless cameras

Tim Covington

I completely agree. I believe that most photographers only need 24mp. My goal for my next camera is a full frame camera with 24mp. I also need a microphone input and would prefer 4k video (not required).

13:33 no I don't want to play that game, and that's why I am sitting at 140 followers for years, despite having what I think to be pretty decent collection on my Instagram, and I am sure that there are 10s of thousands who are better than I in the same boat. Shame, really.

Sam Mer

Title is misleading. "I'll look at the sony later."

UFGator1972

Sorry mate, but to take pictures of artistic graffiti is the same as taking pictures of beautiful landscapes, seascapes, etc... In the case of a nicely composed picture of a building; who gets the credit? According to your theory it is the architect, but I believe that the credit should always go to the photographer.

Andrew Bristoe

My biggest bug bear with all camera companies is a Quick one button method to get from one shot to servo mode without menu dabbing or customising buttons obvious useful thing reason why they don’t do it strange?

About the rangefinder/dslr style cameras, I think it was specifically related to the viewfinder position. I really prefer the viewfinder on the corner of the camera. And I think is already taking too long for a brand to come up with a detatched viewfinder, like a DBZ scouter.

Kangamoo

I cackled at the "sounds like a machine gun" part, good stuff! I feel much better prepared. 😀
